Matt Rundle | June 11, 2018
Urbana’s Motes is an incredible indie post-punk three-piece destined to make your shoegaze dreams come true. Motes is Elizabeth Majerus, Matt Cohn, and Matt Mitchell.
Motes released their first EP on Bandcamp in 2012 and have scattered quality releases since. Their latest release and their second full-length titled “Crash The Day” was officially released on the 9th of this month. “Crash The Day” was recorded at Earth Analog Studio just south of Champaign and released by the Champaign-Urbana label Heirship Records.
The new Champaign-Urbana music scene podcast, Champaign Is Also A Band, debuted last week featuring an interview with vocalist and guitarist of Motes, Elizabeth Majerus. On the show, Majerus talked through the humble beginnings of Motes and how she goes about writing new music. Listen to it here.
